Does my site need SEO?

First you must ask yourself what is SEO before you decide whether you need it or not.

SEO is short for search engine optimization. SEO is a process for getting your site a higher ranking on search engines, like popular sites Google, Bing and Yahoo. By researching keywords that are most searched online and building links and creating content you can gain visits to your website.

So why is SEO important? Everyday your site sits ideal online is a day that you should be gaining visits and new customers or fans. When you gain them you also gain sales on your products the more fans equals more cash.

I recently was searching online for ways to develop new tactics to gain more visits on my website when I came across this site that gave five good reasons for SEO. Checkout the site as it breaks down each reason.  Five Reasons for SEO

SEO v. ROI

It’s very simple formal to follow.
ROI = (Anticipated revenue from SEO efforts) – (Proposed cost of SEO project)
Breaking this down further, we have:
(Anticipated revenue from SEO efforts) = Conversions derived from Organic search visits

The fact is simple is when you take the time and/or money to invest into SEO for your website you will see big gains in your profits and/or fan base depending on what your business is. SEO is not something that is simple or easy to do. You will have to do your research if you are trying to do this on your own. This first thing I would do so that you can see if you are getting results is to check your page rankings before you start and check it periodically to see how your rankings are effected by the SEO methods that you are doing.
